UK GRO Births, Marriages & Deaths 1837 to 2004 Spreadsheets

Along with my UK Census, the Birth, Marriage & Death Indexes, form the backbone of proving the total number of YOXALL lines. My Birth, Marriages and Deaths Indexes carry all the information on UK BMDs plus more, such as the parents and spouse of each individual YOXALL on each census. Due to the 100 rule on privacy I do not record any BMDs for people less than 100 year old. So my records will be updated quarterly in line with the 100 year rule. I could include those less than 100 year old if they are deceased but have chosen not to at this time.

My spreadsheets are not just statistics. Every individual on the census shows my database number so that their family history can be easily found on my YOXALL database. Furthermore, all  3 spreadsheets are designed so they can be merged as a single spreadsheet, making it possible to sort for example by a person’s database number so that all census they appear on come together, or perhaps sorted by place of birth to help offer suggestions where other family members may have been born.  When sorted in date and event order, it is easy to spot an infant death, as birth and death will be close together. Though my spreadsheets are read only, they can all be saved for individual use.

For ease of clarity, I have used a simple colour code system, green for births, yellow for marriages and red for deaths. When all 3 spreadsheets are merged it makes it much easier to identify events by colour than text.

But perhaps more useful for a one name study, each spreadsheet has 2 Charts and Tables, which show visually and statistically the distribution of the YOXALL surname by County of BMD and Distribution of total BMDs in 5 year periods, where you can visually see how the YOXALL population rises and falls over decades.

Before looking at any of my spreadsheets it is advisable to read my extensive BMD  spreadsheets notes, which explain the contents of every row and column and the reasons for the various text colours. You can view all my spreadsheets by clicking on the links in the sidebar for:-
